" If you wait until you're ready, you'll be waiting the rest of your life".- Lemony Snicket
Starting a company in 24 hours teaches you a lot about yourself. What I am willing to do to make this idea work. Am I willing to stay up late? Am I willing to admit I don't know and ask for help? Its those moments were things get rough is were you see peoples real breaking points and true personalities.
Today we pitched our 24 hour company and I was really surprised with what we were able to create. Our teacher, reminded us "guys if your able to do this much in 24 hours, think about what your going to be able to create in the 15 weeks we have left". This point of view really helped me to put things into prospective and realize how much I can accomplish in 15 weeks. It gets overwhelming when you start compering yourself to the other students and the little voice in your head makes you question if you have what it takes.
It's important to take a set back and think about how much you have to offer a team or even your own start up company. For an entrepreneur, with the emotional toll of the role it's important to know your self worth and have confidence even when you have no clue what you are doing. It's much easier to say you should have confidence then develop a self confidence. This has been a common topic for us this week, " I am extremely excited to be here but how do I become confidence enough to take full advantage of the opportunity".
The idea of being 70 years old and looking back saying "man I wish I wouldn't been so scared and tried it" scarces me even to give this whole opportunity my full effort.
Cheers,
Courteney
