Day 102: Series Seed

Today we got to hear from Ben Narasin who is a partner at New Enterprise Associates. We got to learn tons from him about Seed Stage investments and how it translates into later stages of investment. I LOVE thanking about seed stage investments so I really enjoyed this morning! The biggest take aways for me were:

1. Know what your goals for the company are long term and make sure investors have similar goals.

2. Do your research! When you are signing a terms sheet with an investor, you are signing up for what can be a very long partnership so take this time to figure out if you will work well together.

3. Don't waste your time with people who already said no. Once an investor has said no thank them for their time and move on. It takes way to much time and energy to try convenience someone to invest who has already said no. Its better to spend that energy working with people who are excited about your company and find the people who are going to be the best investor for you.

This afternoon we meet with Harvard Business School Grads to review our pitch decks and executive summaries. Then the rest of the day was spent getting caught up on emails and what not from the thanksgiving break! I am also doing lots of planning for the next steps for once I am done with the Draper program and how to come back to Arizona with as much energy and force as I can with Trader Jack!

Cheers,

Courteney
