Day Eighteen: What Can You Do In 90 Seconds?
"You have 90 seconds, if you’re lucky. If you can’t make your point persuasively in that time, you’ve lost the chance for impact. Facts and figures are important, but it’s not the only criteria, you must present in a manner that generates expertise and confidence." - Robert Herjavec.
What makes a person, professional or company successful? Trust.
Can I trust you as a person, as an employees or your product? As an entrepreneur you have to convince people, investors and customers that your company, product or you yourself are trust worthy. As we learned today to master the art of trust you must understand, persuasive message design.
How do large companies like Coke, Google and Apple gain customers trust? Through thoughtful and strategic messages they send to their customers through brand marketing.
This is a skill as entrepreneur we need to learn. When pitching our companies it critical that we can correctly articulate the value to investors and future customers. Just like Robert Herjavce said, you get very little time to make an impression with investors, so you need to be prepared and knowledgeable on your industry.
Today I spent a large amount of time working on how exactly to describe the value of Trader Jacks and explain what niche it is filling in the vacation rental market, along with the potential growth. I need to be able to confidently explain the value of Trader Jack's in order for the company to become trustworthy and successful.
To become an industry expert I have been reading endless articles, completing competitor analyst and learning from other companies mistakes. This is helping me to identity what will set my company from other, which will equate to value. Working on completing the phrase, Trader Jack's is different from the competitor because of ABC which bring value because XZY.
Cheers,
Courteney
