Day Thirty: Taking Home The Prize

“Trust the wait. Embrace the uncertainty. Enjoy the beauty of becoming. When nothing is certain, anything is possible” ― Mandy Hale

Today was the last day of the HERO-athon and my team took home third place! It was a crazy weekend but I was able to learn a lot about my team and myself. We spent over 48 hours creating dataPharmX, an online platform that would allow researchers to share study data through the blockchain allowing companies to save money and keep trade secrets protected. It's cool to see how much work a group of driven students can get done in a weekend.

The best part of being at Draper university is that a month ago I wouldn't have been able to tell you what blockchain was but today my team created a whole company based on blockchain technology. This environment allows me and my classmates to learn about things we would have never even heard about in our home towns. Some times it truly feels like we are living in the future here in Silicon Valley.

We are learning here is to dive right in to the uncertainty and confidently ask why things are the way they are! It's amazing to reflect on the last month we have been at Draper University and see how far we have all come. It's all about being willing to leave your comfort zone and dream bigger!

Cheers,

Courteney
