Day Thirty-one: Where Does One Find A Co-Founder?
“It’s better to have no cofounder than to have a bad cofounder, but it’s still bad to be a solo founder.”- Sam Altman
I might have found the next hardest thing to founding a company, find a co-founder. Finding someone who understands you idea well enough to get excited about it and happens to have skills that complement yours seems nearly impossible.
Today, I spent the day planning out what I need in a Co- Founder and the places I could find one. I am looking for a Co-founder who could support the technical needs of the company. So to be able to find the prefect Co-Founder I need to be able to fully explain what I want Trader Jacks to be.
I used Adobe XD to design a frame wire of what I want the first software design to look like and how it would function. Which means watching lots of youtube tutorials and learning more about how the software could work.
Tonight, we have a great quest speaker Jerry Baldwin one of the founders of my beloved Starbucks. Anyone who know me knows that I am avid Starbucks coffee drinker, enough that I was named ASU Starbucks customer of the month my freshman year of college. So to say the least I am fan girling a little bit!
It not just the coffee that I love about Starbucks, it the social capital ideology they have spread through out their company culture. Not only have they been able to wildly successful financially but they have also been able to make huge innovations with in areas such as employee/ employer relationships and fair trade agreements. I am excited to learn about the early days of Starbucks and how they grew their company culture to the way it is today!
Off to grab an ice tea before our next lecture begins!
Cheers,
Courteney
